Summer 2025, Part 2

The end of summer was a great one. Helen did two weeks of dance camp, which she adored.

Samantha did two weeks of a paper-making and bookbinding class at MassArt, made a new friend, and got to hang out with an old one too.

Then Samantha did a week of silversmithing and jewelry-making, which she also loved.

We had babywearing friends come through Boston and got to see them!

Helen loved participating in an "insect safari" at the Arb. We caught a dragonfly.

We went to a "Wicked" singalong outdoor movie (relocated inside, with a big inflatable screen on a turf field and pretty comfortable seats--and a very dictatorial elevator sign.

Finally, we took seven teenages (plus Helen) camping for a weekend at Salisbury Beach State Reservation--gorgeous group campsites a 2-minute walk from the beach--and survived.

Helen liked playing Skull with the big boys.

Dairy Queen run.

Teen girls' tent, teen boys' tent. The boys may have skimped a bit on the assembly, as their tent partially collapsed on them overnight.

Gorgeous sunset and night-time beach and playground expedition.

Weirdly, "let's pick each other up" was one of the boys' favorite campsite activities...

Helen flew her own kite, and we saw a man with a lot of kites, some of which he made himself, and all attached together.

The big kids liked exploring. Including in the children's room of the nature center.

When we got home from camping, the rest of the summer flew by. Friends with babies, baby dolls, grandparents, helicopters on the Boston Common, Girl Scout Silver Award, and more friends...it was a great summer!

And finally, school started! 12th, 8th, and 4th grades, and Samantha wore cool shoes and Marcus had the Senior Sunrise in the park on the first Saturday of school
